What should Bivols game plan be?

Agree with the first part which essentially is his style. That's why I feel he's gonna give Canelo all he could handle because not having to switch up much,he's going to feel pretty comfortable in there doing what he does. Canelo isn't going to be able to bully him either, this isn't a faded, alcoholic Kov,Bivol isnt the biggest 175lber but he's solid.
He's going to get hit at some point but Canelo isnt a massive puncher like Joe so I don't think he"ll have any issues with Canelos power up top, only should be a concern down low. It's not out of realm that Bivol has enough pop to hurt Canelo even himself either. Going to be a great fight either way, can't wait to see how it unfolds.Comment

Establish his jab, win the battle of the jabs and dominate.
Then **** to the body. Jab up stairs, and concentrate on body attacks.
This is all he needs to do in the first half of the fight.
Of course if a opportunity arises to land a big punch up stairs, go for it.
But I honestly think Bivol should go into this fight, with a long game. A long game of destruction.
That's it basically, I think this will win him rounds. And in the late rounds may even completely break down Alvarez 'At this point, he should switch the big punches up stairs'.
Note: This is what I would like to see from Bivol. But can he do it? The only attributes he has over Alvarez are size, stamina, maybe movement by a small margin. Skill for skill, I don't think Bivol is super elite.Comment

He wins by knocking Canelo out, he could all 12 rounds decisively and would likely still lose 7-5. Too much money on the line for DAZN and Hearn.
Personally, I think it's going to be a clinic after 5 with Bivol doing to Canelo what Strum did to De La Hoya. And like Strum will be robbed.Last edited by SilverMiles; 04-27-2022, 08:19 PM.Comment

- Never give Canelo the same look multiple times
- Don't bend over at the waist to avoid punches
- Don't fall into the traps; double the jab and separate

I didn't know much about Sturm at the time but Bivol seems better/more proven than Sturm was; he was probably at more of a size advantage though. Canelo does not have the bad habits Oscar had outside the ring at that point; he's still riding high. Canelo is the house fighter and gets the benefit of the doubt but even with that, it still seems closeLast edited by LA_2_Vegas; 04-27-2022, 07:34 PM.Comment
