I think we’ve all known for years that Fury is better than AJ although pre-Ruiz AJ would have been a good fight .
AJ bullied and beat up Whyte. Probably took years off his chin too . He got wobbled but definitely didn’t “go to war” in a manner that made his win any less one sided than Fury’s.aboutfkntime likes this.

I remember those long, lean years after Lewis retired when the best hope we had was that Matt Skelton might get a voluntary against Sam Peter at one point.
Danny Williams vs Audley Harrison was the big British heavyweight rivalry for about 3 years at one point, it was DIRE.
It dragged on for YEARS until David Haye came along and just about nicked a belt off Valuev and defended it vs 40 year old John Ruiz and Audley Harrison.
Joshua would have been a lot more appreciated by fans if he had been around then, but now it's just civil war and "matchroom casuals"
I get called a matchroom casual because I dont mind Joshua, by people who appear to have started watching boxing in the last 5 years.
It's hilarious.

He's better. Ok. But better doesn't always mean you win.
I mean, I think it's clear that AJ is better than Ruiz, but he got sparked.
I don't think Fury would have an easy night with AJ. Nor Usyk. But AJ is the bigger fight.
There's a huge fight coming up in a couple of months - let's see where we stand after that.
