Can someone explain and is it just me or...

Dillian Whyte for some reason actually box better as a southpaw? Granted it was a feel out round.

But like how do you turn southpaw and look the best you ever have as opposed to fighting in your natural stance?

He wasn't coming forward in straight lines or overreaching, pushing his shots. He was bending at his knees, throwing faints , moving his head - Make no mistake he wasn't looking like Usyk out there & was always going to revert to type and gas due to fighting in a style he wasn't used to but I can't get my head around why he boxed better.
He goes back to orthodox & starts plodding in straight lines, head over his front foot with his earmuffs on looking terrible.

I found it so bizarre. I just can't get my head around it

Do you reckon maybe because it was a feel out round he was purely focussed on not taking anything as opposed to getting off? Added bonus of making Tyson take a look at him for a few minutes.

tbh I need to watch it again but the only time I saw Whyte as any kind of threat is when he basically nailed Fury with 3 rabbit punches in maybe round 4. And that was from the square on t.its on Tyson's head stance.

I like Whyte but I think he had a shocker really. He's better than that but you're right I think he didn't get banjo'd as a southpaw so he was doing something right, lol

Probably because he's only learned the fundamental basics of how to fight in that stance so wasn't able to do all his bad habits from it.

there’s nothing to take about it. Like you said it’s a feel out round. He’s not good at it and would sooner go back to his original stance once hit with fire. If he continued fighting that way fury would have landed his right hands a bit easier. i just thought he was giving different looks to fury. Either way he would’ve figured it out.

You thought he boxed better because fury wasn’t doing anything yet as well and is just getting to his rhythm. Easy to look good when nobody’s attacking or pushing you yet.
