Remember when Fury said he'd donate his purse to charity then when koog asked him about it he said it's noone business? Fury is a habitual liar, he's not retiring.

He is very good but I feel things have gotten a little hyperbolic with him at times. Like he was mostly **** on during his first run even after the Wlad fight, then going into the first Wilder fight most people thought he was gonna get killed, even though people didnt rate Wilder much. Then all of a sudden after the 2nd Wilder fight all of a sudden hes being talked about like an ATG head to head king, even though all that happened between those two things to change the perception is him beating the same Wilder nobody really rated and some random German and Swedish guys.
I'm also not a fan of all this retirement BS, not the first time or this time. Especially when theres so many fights out there for him.
But yeah, of course he is talented and most likely the best HW today.Comment

You know what Fury is like, tomorrow this retirement talk could all disappear and I hope it does. I'd love for him to face the winner of Usyk v Joshua 2 (Usyk then) and I'd still want him to face the loser cuz styles make fights and both names on the resume bulk up that resume a bit more.
But right now I'm just appreciating the Gypsy King. I know it was only Dillian Whyte but the ease at which he handled him was sublime, the ring IQ is through the roof and for a "feather fist" that finish, that one shot ender was beautiful.
You may see me call this a weak era but at no point am I saying Fury stands aloft only because it is a weak era. Fury, especially this focused healthy Cronk Fury is an exceptional talent. I don't usually put Heavyweights on any P4P list but Fury deserves to be on it.Comment

He's certainly a very formidable boxer with his combination of attributes. I liked how fast, relaxed and loose he looked against Whyte. Very nice KO but it was only Whyte though.
I don't rate the Wilder wins as highly as some but still good wins. Wlad was a top, top win.
He definitely still needs to fight Joshua/Usyk for me though because Wlad was a bit old and there was no rematch and Wilder lacked skill and was still quite unproven. Both winnable fights as he has a big size advantage over Usyk and an advantage over Joshua in boxing ability and experience.Last edited by Apollo7; 04-24-2022, 06:58 AM.Comment

There is this binary division either you say Fury is the best or you are just hater, but that doesn't leave much room for constructive criticism and nobody is above that. Not even Fury even though some of his "fans" wants him to be.
Weirdly some of the Fury fans wants him to retire rather than box more, which is weird for me. So you are a fan of him, but don't want more Tyson Fury's fights even though you think he is the best and you probably enjoy his boxing? This is the first time I see this phenomenon and it's kind of crazy to me.Comment

about time we have a thread like this!
like fury himself says if he cant beat these bums of his generation then hes not as great as he thinks he is,

Fury’s era as we’ve always said
the reality is the likes of AJ only had a legit claim to being number 1 was when Fury was out of the game and 30 stone.
The likes of Joshua would never have even won a world title belt if Fury had continued after that Klitschko fight, unless some become vacant due to politics or whatever.
The truth is Fury possibly might’ve been even better without 3 years out and being obese etc.
Its basically like Usain Bolt in 2008-2009 time, he was just so far ahead of the rest when it mattered, there’s really not much anybody can do about it.Comment

Fury is one of the best heavyweights ever, just people deny that because for some reason they believe Jack Johnson and Frazier would beat him, lol.Comment
