Seven undefeated fighters in 147 top 10 and five in the top 10 at 135. This is a big fight. I've stated many times that 115 is my favorite division. and as much as I hated HBO and their bias, I loved that HBO gave them a platform. I'm hyped for this.
It feels like the "best fighting the best" behavior is usually demonstrated in the divisions that get less coverage (ie. CW a while back). Drama/gossip and overmarination isn't leading to the big and best fights consistently. I've fallen victim to this, but I find that I regain clarity and sanity when I'm not paying attention to NSB and just appreciate the fights.

Sometimes you hear boxing talking heads talk about what a younger Benitez and Tyson were able to accomplish...but sometimes we fail to realize that there are some young fighters currently on the cusp of greatness and are in the process of writing their own legend. I feel like Rodriguez finds himself in that special place, and I feel like a loudmouth promoter like Hearn could (hopefully) blow his trumpet and make the casual fan take notice. You have Ennis at 147 who could potentially take out the top guys, but is probably not gonna get his chance. You had the "young princes" at 135 *****-footing around another. If Rodriguez continues to take opportunities with both hands, he'll eventually become the one that all these mags and journalists will be plastering on P4P lists.

Damn that would be huge. Still a great year for Bam even without Gonzalez

I was hoping he'd drop down to 112 but this is a big fight for him so you can't blame him for that.

              Rodriguez has no fear.

              A consistently good division.

Cuadras, Sor Rungvisai, now it's time for Gonzalez and Estrada. Rodriguez has a unique opportunity in front of him, and I hope he doesn't move down. I know he doesn't want to step on his brother's toes, but he's in the process of writing his own legend. Judging by Hearn's post-fight interview, he has the same vision for Rodriguez that I do, but it's ultimately up to Team Rodriguez. Bam's potential trajectory is one of the most exciting things in the sport.
