Comments Thread For: Hearn on Benn Facing Avanesyan or Stanionis: Good Fighters, Zero Profile

Eddie Hearn admitted he has little interest in putting Conor Benn in with either European welterweight champion David Avanesyan or WBA "regular" champion Eimantas Stanionis, as the pair are just not well known enough.

Hearn isn't going to let Benn go to the states and probably hasn't got the budget to get a Garcia, Thurman or hroner to the UK. So who's Benn actually going to fight?

What Hearn really means is those two guys are way to young to fight Conor Benn.

I guess Van heerden who made his name of sparring Conor McGregor is a huge profile compared to Avanesyan or stanionis.

I understand Matchroom are floundering so they can’t afford to risk they’re “flagship” fighter. If Conor Benn is the best you got in your stable, times are seriously hard. This is why Eddies fighters fail so badly at the highest level. It’s because they’re level of opponents are awful.

Look at Joshua when he faces real fighters with a pulse. Same with many other Matchroom fighters.

Throw Benn in with Josh Kelly. See if Conor fares as well as David did.

There is no way in hell Hearn puts Benn in with Stanionis.

McKinnson would be easy to make he's highly ranked, easy fight to make and will do a lot of rounds but boring fight to watch.

What about Kavaliauskas ? .. he beat Avanesyan who seems to only want to fight bum of the week now.

At this point Mickey Garcia seems semi-retired. Ditto Broner. The fight to be made is with Danny Garcia. Danny doesn't have a route back to a belt without going through Spence, Crawford, Ennis or Ortiz. Benn is an easier fight for him and will pay well so he might as well take it. If he wins he can wait on Broner taking a warm up fight.

Cause Van Heerden has such a massive profile.

The reality is they beat Benn and that’s why they’ll be avoided.

The only way Hearn risks Conor is, somebody else pays for it. Eddy will build him up with cheap names until he can get a payday, from somebody else. Nobody who's a threat is worth the money to Eddy.

He only has to offer them more than they can make fighting in the States. Benn has all kinds of defensive flaws so it is not as if he high risk low reward - more like medium-high risk/medium high reward
