Must be nice to always get the call for the big fights in Texas just because of who your daddy was.
Laurence Cole is the worst ref in the game

Cole has family members in high places in Texas. No matter how bad of a job he has done over the years he will still get the big fights in Texas. He is horrible ref and bias at times.Comment

- - Since Daddy retired, they moved him to support bouts of big cards to retrain him. Only recently did he return to big time bouts, but I have yet to see the full footage of "the mouthpiece interference clip.
Given the general lower order IQ of NS and mass of boxing fans, they be squallin' evey weekend about something justified or not. Larry sorta like l'l floydy when he Daddy retired, making messes everywhere, like maybe a Tube fight between them coming soon to squall about

Yeah, his dad ****ie Cole spent two decades as head of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations for combat sports.
Perfect example of nepotism allowing an incompetent person to get and keep a high profile job.Comment

He may be bad, but the announcers were hating on him all fight, mostly for no reason. The announcers had no clue when he was having the doctor check Ugas' eye, etc.
He may deserve some flack for the mouthpiece thing, but it's a hard call - do you let someone lose all their teeth because there are a few punches going back and forth and you don't want to stop some minimal "action"? Do you make someone just put a dirty mouthpiece (with who knows what on it) back in their mouth without it getting rinsed off?Last edited by buge; 04-17-2022, 09:56 AM.Comment

I’m rewatching now. What did he do wrong in the 6th round?
Not suggesting he’s a great ref but I thought he followed the rules when he waited to put the mouthpiece back in.
Also thought he could’ve taken points away from Ugas for holding or pushing his head down but didn’t.Comment

he didn't do anything wrong in the 6th. He followed the rules. He waited for a break in the action and then had the corner wash the mouth piece off. Other than that, he's still corruptI’m rewatching now. What did he do wrong in the 6th round?
