Crawford has fought absolutely nobody at WW and I mean no one. His ppvs tanked, he stayed hidden behind his promoter, his resume when stacked up against Spence is an absolute joke and lives off the unearned hype of this fantasy people call pound for pound.

He either comes to the table for his scraps until he beats Spence or moves on. He brings no fans and Spence is a proven PPV and gate seller. This is a business and not a charity.
I agree his resume is trash but porter is a good win and so is the kauvlaskas win....after that its really weak

Seriously, I expected a tougher fight for Spence. Ugas was vastly underrated IMO. Spence showed his stuff!

This was the biggest statement win for Spence since he went to England and stopped Kell Brook. This win really separated Spence from the rest of the pack, like Crawford showed he is #1 or #2 at 147. Spence did the same with this Ugas win. Although I felt Spence blatantly beat up Ugas while Porter was still competitive until the stoppage vs Crawford.

Regardless, these two can’t wait anymore. They are getting at that age where boxers see a decline. It doesn’t get easier after 35, not for offensive minded fighters like Crawford and Spence.

As far as Ugas being a “fringe contender” and “average”, he didn’t look like it vs Porter or Pacquiao. This was 100% seen as a risky fight for the rusty Spence who had an almost 2 year lay off and had a bunch of question marks over his eye injury. I was expecting that even in winning, Spence would get another retinal detachment and have to retire after a long, grueling 12 rounds. I am totally surprised at his performance. He fought like a pit bull in there, it was fun to see. His face in the end didn’t even look like he was in a fight.

Kudos to Spence!! I knew he is better than Ugas but i didn't expect this kind of win.

Spence's offensive output is awesome. Reminds me a little of Roberto Duran how he can find the angles and space to whale away while being inches from his opponent. His defensive lapses means the Crawford fight is hard to pick (I am sticking with my long-term slight leaning toward Spence though).

I don't think this fight was stopped too early. I think it was in the 8th the doc took a a look at that eye and I think there they let it continue in lieu of the occassion when it was doubtful whether Ugas could see much if anything on one side. When they checked it the second time, you could see it was completely closed and it would have been irresponsible to let him carry on.

Regarding the mouthpiece/staggered against the ropes: Spence looked more hurt when viewing live, i thought. On replay, you could see it was confusion as much as anything. THe mouthpiece popped out from an awkward shot then Spence had a brainfart and went after the mouthpiece, completely ignoring Ugas, at which point he got socked on the chin. Naturally, he was staggered. Ref should have waited for a more pronounced lull to stop things, but I don't think there was anything untoward in it. Spence wasn't hurt to the point of being espcially vulnerable, apart from he might have lost some fake teeth. Nothing he hasn't done at 120mph face first into asphalt before.
