I understand that when you get to PPV level you reallly don't need a promoter per say because the networks do most of the promoting but what about the 1st 20 fights or so? Who foots the bill for that? I would say it is more of a partnership between the fighter and promoter where as the promoter extends himself financially to build a fighter and makes his return should the fighter rise to the top and make championship levels.
