obviously you don't understand the business aspect of the sport..
I'm willing to bet that you've been watching boxing for under a year.
maybe those fighters are no interest to YOU on the day of the fight but the purpose of promoting them is supposed to be to get them exposure so they can gain recognition from casual viewers and people who aren't yet already fans so they'll come back and buy a fight involving said fighter down the line.
Of course, it is no interest to Mayweather or Marquez whether someone buys a ticket to see Katsidis fight. However, it's in the promoters best interest and the sports best interest because those are potential ticket sales and viewers.
I'm not really a fan of anybody on the under card.. that doesn't mean I don't want to see the sport succeed.
see unlike you fanboys, I'm not a fan of just a certain fighter, I'm a fan of the sport as a whole.Last edited by Sin City; 09-16-2009, 03:35 PM.Comment

and?
promotion is done for the masses not for dedicated boxing fans.
they have to promote the main event because generally they're the only ones the masses will know.
you could have guzman-valero on the undercard or viloria-calderon on this undercard and it wouldn't help sell the fight to the masses.Comment
