Is it a risk? Of course. That's normal, when you fight people in the Top 10, it's a risk. Instead people would rather him not take risks and fight unranked guys because he's "young" Makes zero sense.

Funny thing is, when Avenesyan fought Josh Kelly, Conor Benn was ringside working for Sky and they were building up heavily for Conor to fight the winner, which they all thought was going to be Josh Kelly, then after he lost, all of a sudden it's off the table.

It's ridiculous, the Avanesyan fight is what should be happening this weekend, instead we get a joke of a fight against Van Heerden. But hey, that is modern day boxing.
Yep, if.Kelly won you know Conor would have been in the ring after and the fight announced soon. As it was he ran to Davids changing room to tell him how much of a beast he was and has then since disrespected him and ran away like a fairy.

20 fights in is a good amount before stepping up.

"This will be his last little test before he jumps in with a Kell Brook, a Mikey Garcia, Danny Garcia, an Adrien Broner, a Keith Thurman – one of those elite names," Hearn said.

Notice he didn't say "elite fighters," he said "elite names!" Brook, Garcia, and Broner, are no longer "Elite!"

Yeah, I think we all disagree on Hearn's definition of elite but I don't mind as long as Benn is taking a genuine step up

The likes of Brook, Mikey Garcia or DSG would be good crossroads style matchups that could go either way even if they're not top 5/top 10 anymore

How about Vergil Ortiz. Both DAZN fighters. No need to cross those pesky promotional lines. Got the stones Eddie?

These were all once elite fighters, I know he doesnt want no parts of the live dogs in the division
