Hooray for him! That's a very noble and worthy cause. All I am saying is that he has drawn the cultural line when it comes to fighting members of the Hispanic, Latin X and peoples of the Spanish speaking background. It is the major reason why he won't fight David Benavidez. He wants to remain the big fish among the fighters of Spanish speaking descent. He doesn't want them to bask in the glow with him or steal his thunder.

Oscar or anyone who thinks the lightweight Garcia will ever fight the over 160 pound Canelo is delusional.

Canelo's actual position was that he prefers not to fight Mexicans. He did not offer up any reservations about fighting Non-Mexican Hispanics. Benavidez is not Mexican. He is an American. David was born in Arizona to a Mexican father and an Ecuadoran Mother. He is Hispanic, but not Mexican. Canelo is fighting champions these days and has gone on record as saying neither David nor Charlo has anything to offer him, but they should fight each other and he will willing to fight the winner. Generally, Mexicans recognize the cultural ties and bonds Mexican Americans have with Mexico, but understand that they are not Mexicans. This is akin to understanding that Italian Americans are not actually Italians or that Polish Americans are not actually Poles.

Thanks for the history lesson. I stand corrected. Salute to you my friend!

Come ODH. Garcia just said he'd be quiet about fights that won't happen yet, now he'll fight Canelo. In less than a year, he's mentioned Tank, Lopez, Haney, Loma, Kambosos, Pac and now Nelo but fought Tagoe. This will never happen unless your planning on doing him like Munguia and let him go 60-0 facing c&b level fighters to get Nelo. Take baby steps at least, target J.Diaz or someone in the top5-6 first.

Are they trying to pre-promote Canelo - Danny Garcia bout? Danny has experience but not that much to challenge Canelo

I think Cruz vs. Garcia is next.

Cruz says he wants a belt and Garcia want's to fight Cruz see where he stands with Tank down the road.

we’ll have to see because as of now, I’ve seen a lot of callouts from Garcia without much (or any) real follow up.
