great, another undefeated WW in the top 10 fighting a journeyman. When does this **** stop and these guys start to fight each other?

As has been the case in many previous generations, talented fighters with a bright career are ALWAYS built up, and NEVER just thrown in with the wolves so to speak. Conner Benn is no exception.

Also, Conner has needed time to perfect his craft before challenging for a world title. He has improved significantly over the last two years. If he's put in too soon, and loses, then people will say, "He wasn't ready" or "He was just all hype".

The guys that need to fight each other, are Errol Spence and Crawford. Guys like Conner Benn, Vergil Ortiz, Jaron Ennis, etc., are all up-and-coming fighters that should be ready for a title shot this year.

Just pertaining to the LATE 90s, Ike Ibeabuchi and David Tua fought each other on BAD as up and coming undefeated hws in a classic hw match. Then Ike, with his undefeated record, fought another future of the division in undefeated Chris Byrd and he ko'd him in 5 rounds. IN the 80s, 2 undefeated up and coming fighters before they were top of the division, Marlon Starlin and Donald Curry, fought each other. Curry won and when he became champ, they fought again. No one is saying Benn, Ennis, or Ortiz should be thrown to Crawford or Spence early in their careers, but of those 7 undefeated fighters I'm talking about, 5 of them are up and coming fighters. These young guys need to be fighting each other by the 4th or 5th year they are pros. There is no excuse for that. This is Ennis and Ortiz' 6th year as pros and they could have at least fought each other by now if they can't get a fight with Spence or Crawford. You don't think 6 years as a pro is long enough to fight at least 1 other top 10 guy? That's almost a decade.

I do quite like Conor Benn. It's been fun watching him go from no hoper that's only where he is because of his dad to legit contender trying to step out of his dad's shadow.

But, I don't like Hearn's recent matchmaking. I get the whole getting him experience thing but he's fought too many opponents recently that have been there, got the t-shirt and hanging around with it a bit too long. One or two is fine but by now he should have faced a fellow prospect, somebody hungry, in form and coming to win. He should've bagged a domestic title enroute to his current ranking. I'm not even talking about throwing him to the wolves. Somebody like Marku, McKinson or Avanesyan. He is still green when you combine Pro-Am experience but he'd benefit from seeing something other than over the hill veterans too
