  • Comments Thread For: Marlen Esparza Wants More Gold: I Really Want The Next Two Belts

At the Alamodome in San Antonio, history was made for women's boxing as Houston's Marlen Esparza (12-1, 1 KOs) defeated Tokyo's Naoko Fujioka (19-3-1, 17 KOs) via unanimous decision and was crowned the WBC, WBA unified flyweight world champion.

I thought it was it was a close fight. 6-4 or 7-3 in rounds in favor of Esparza. Judges seemed to have filled out the scorecards in advance.

She should serve that Estrada rematch unless she just wants to get a paycheck; Siniesa would outclass her worse than the first fight.

Esparza is possibly the worlds first complete joke of a female champion. Won her titles via total robbery and barely eeks by a 46 year old veteran. Scorecards filled out in advanced in both cases.

if she even runs into Estrada again it’s lights out.

I am inclined to agree here. She is really not very good at all.

This was another fight on that lousy card I shouldn’t have watched.

Whatever Golden Boy paid the judges, it was too much. The tiny pear-shaped club fighter was hit at will in every round by a Japanese grandmother. FFS!
