He said "It's Bigger than Boxing." That's a direct dig at boxing in. Also, if he says he wants to keep the fight standing, then it's boxing. I say this because he doesn't really kick. So if you're standing and using your hands that's generally considered boxing. Unless he's suggesting that all he wants to do is blindly wing Hayemakers. I suppose that wouldn't be considered boxing.

I read that part, and still don't think we have enough information from that excerpt to conclude that he was taking a shot at boxing. Everyone here just loves to hate this guy, but in reality, he's never even said or done anything negative about anyone.

Kimbo is a smart man, i understand him. He only wants to box with MMA fighters who are poor boxers. It's a good move, you avoid the boxers at what they do and you fight the MMA guys at what they suck at.

"It's bigger than boxing" is a shot at boxing in my book. I don't want to hate on Kimbo, but I think it's unfortunate that his statement really does expose himself for someone with limited ability trying to exploit the fight game.

This will still likely be a ratings explosion for the ultimate fighter. I'm assuming Kimbo didn't win, I wonder where his career goes from here.

It will be a ratings explosion for two reasons:

The first, and biggest reason are because of the two coaches, Rashad and Rampage...two guys who genuinely do not like each other, and are constantly in each other's faces.

The second is because of Kimbo Slice.


Either way, if Kimbo doesn't do horribly, he will definitely be fighting in the UFC. If he doesn't fare so well, he always has big opportunities overseas in Japan where they'd pay to see a spectacle with drawing power like Kimbo.
