why catchweight negotiation if they can just pay Bivol to take it easy?

Does Canelos power carry up through the weights?... he sparked Kovalev out cold in brutal fashion but this was a Kovalev who'd recently gone life and death with Antony Yard and probably wasn't in the best shape to be taking on Alvarez but I get it you take that fight when it's on the table $$$.
Personally i'm leaning towards a canelo exact method of victory UD at the moment but can only find win only markets right now.
To throw all of the above in to doubt... has Bivol ever been properly dinged on the jaw?

You have the full attention of an odds pervert now!!! is that just the straight win or method of victory TKO or what? I've been eyeing up this fight. Bivol hasn't managed to stop anyone for a while even against the likes of (no disrespect) Craig Richards who's hardest fight ended in defeat to Frank Buglioni (UD). One thing that discounts that notion is the win/ loss records of Bivols last 4 opponents who have only lost 6 fights between them their entire careers so he's fought good level opponents in that respect.

It's risky, of course, but I think betting on a decision is not a bad bet. He won't stop Canelo, I just don't see a way unless Canelo gets desperate late and just runs out of fuel.Comment

I literally have no idea what your talking about? Nelo said hed fight Floyd at CW as he knows you got to give floyd incentive to not duck fight. Of course if Nelo says hes willing to fight at 148 or 150 is going to spark floyds interest. Its floyds job to say, no CW needed, no hydration clauses needed. Just like Nelo is doing against BIvol.
Of course Floyd sabotaged his legacy fight. He should have given Nelo a rematch also. If GGG asked floyd to fight at 154, do you really think GGG would ideally want to fight Floyd at 154, or do you think GGG would request that as he thinks its only chance to get floyd in ring? Of course GGG would like to fight Floyd at 160 ideally. Its floyds job to say no, he wants fight at 160, otherwise hes sabotaging his legacy fight again.
Nelo didnt ask GGG to fight at 158 did he? Pac didnt ask thurman or Spence to fight at 145 did he?
Floyd started his career at 130. He’s not even a natural WW. Canelo was a 154 fighter, there were other champions at his weight class, it wasn’t up to Floyd to chase after him.
Floyd chased after Oscar so he moved mountains to get the fight including moving up in weight. It’s that simple. Canelo could have called out Floyd without any incentive. You and I know Canelo wanted the money that came with the fight.
Your GGG example is also moot, why should a guy that started his career at 130 go all the way to 160? Why didn’t GGG move to 168 to fight Ward or even 175 to fight Hopkins? It’s pretty obvious it’s not his weight class but if Ward wanted GGG, he is the one who would have dropped to 160. Period.
Nelo didn’t ask GGG to fight at 158, but he did ask Khan to go to 155. He asked for a rehydration clause for Kovalev, and he offered Floyd to come down to 152. The only problem you have is Floyd. That’s telling.
As for PAC, you are ignoring that he did demand Cotto to come to 145 and also demanded a 150 catchweight with Margarito. Margarito had just been destroyed by Mosley. Yet that is PAC’s “legacy” win and Floyd’s beating of Canelo was tarnished?
That argument is what you call cherry-picking based on who you don’t like and clearly you don’t like Floyd.
You and I have debated this many times in the past

“no. Because he doesn’t feel that’s what greats do.”
wonder why the change of heart considering the fact that he’s the guy who has asked for more catchweight fights and rehydration clauses than probably anyone ever in boxing. This includes all of his fights at 155, his absurd catchweight of 162.5 against chavez jr and his rehydration clauses for his fights with jacobs, fielding and kovalev.Comment
