Comments Thread For: Romero: Tank Didn't Perform Well Against Isaac Cruz, But I Think He Won Fight Convincingly

Rolando Romero wasn't impressed by Gervonta Davis' performance in his last fight. Davis' upcoming opponent still doesn't think the unbeaten WBA world lightweight champion came close to losing to Isaac Cruz. Romero (14-0, 12 KOs), who will challenge Davis (26-0, 24 KOs) on May 28 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, believes Davis did enough during their 12-round, 135-pound championship match to win comfortably.

Once Davis's left was hurt and he could not deliver it properly Cruz started coming in more. Don't think Cruz would have been that successful if that left wasn't hurt.

It was a great fight. Cruz is one tough dude. Tank showed a champs heart when broke his hand.

It wasnt Tanks best performance but by no means did Cruz win. He did show grit in th loss and built his brand a little bigger.

Will the left stay hurt? Bad hands? Floyd had them.

Davis to me…has way too much on his plate. He declined that plea deal and is going to jury. His contract is up, he’s got another investigation he’s under as well. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this fight go sideways somehow. If he ain’t gonna be Floyd’s star and they feel he’s leaving…yeah. I’ll be watching this one closely. May throw a Benjamin on rolly on the odd chance Davis life is not letting him focus.

That fight wasn’t even that close. Cruz fought better than everyone thought he would going into the fight but that doesn’t mean he won, or that the fight was at all close. They gave Cruz every close swing round that could’ve gone either way. I’ve never seen anything like that before. But they couldn’t give him the fight because Tanks rounds were so freaking obvious that Stevie Wonder could’ve scored the rounds for Tank. One guy sqeaked by in his rounds and the other guy cruised easy in his rounds.
