Comments Thread For: Kathy Duva on Kovalev's Cruiserweight Debut: It Can Be Great or It Can Be Awful, We Really Don't Know

Not even promoter Kathy Duva has any inkling of what to expect from her longtime charge, former light heavyweight titlist Sergey Kovalev, when he enters the ring as a cruiserweight.

A guy who really effed up his own career. Prime kovalev was a monster but he just thought he knew it all and didn't need to train and obviously drinking alot just derailed him. I think he might win this fight but if he faces a top guy at cruiserweight hell get poleaxed

Hasn't fought in years. Atleast his brains have had time to recover, he took some damage in his last losses. hope he still shows some of his prime moves.

Pulev is obviously a lot fresher but he’s also nearly 40 and has barely even fought at European level as a pro. If Kovalev has anything left he should take this.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Hearn tries to drag him over to the UK to give Okollie a recognisable name to beat. The WBO will likely give him a ranking if he wins this weekend too.

Anytime a boxer is past his prime and goes up in weight. It’s because he’s fat. Does that sound like a ideal reason?

I’ve never seen Pulev fight. Is he any good?

I don't think Pulev is much good but fair play to Kovalev, he's stepping up to C/W & going up against a guy that is 16-0 so he's not screwing around here!
