Comments Thread For: Ugas: I Pushed For Spence Fight; Ready To Prove Everything I've Done Wasn't A Fluke At All

Yordenis Ugas has wanted to prove himself against Errol Spence Jr. for the past four years. Now that the Cuban champion's long wait is finally near its conclusion, Ugas cannot wait to face Spence, even in what figures to be hostile territory. Spence (27-0, 21 KOs), of DeSoto, Texas, and Ugas (27-4, 12 KOs), a Miami resident who trains in Las Vegas, are set to fight April 16 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where they'll compete for Spence's IBF and WBC and Ugas' WBA belts.

Man, I’m really stuck on this fight. Ugas has the style to make it ugly and pull off the upset. Plus, who knows how Spence is after the retina surgery.

Ugas should beat Spenk clearly. Otherwise SD win for Spenk. Porter shouldn't have dropped.

Let's see some new blood--if Ugas wins he will fight Crawford. No waiting around for 4 years. Crawford probably takes either guy but they are good fights.

Cant sleep on Ugas and I know some boxing fans won't because he's a very good fighter and hes tricky in there. This is a proper fight for Spence yeah ugas isnt a household name but Spence gotta be at his best to beat ugas otherwise he's in for a long night

He pushed for the fight because he might lose to his mandatory.
Ugas went against his own manager Decubas, who wanted soft touches first.
But to Ugas there's no such thing as soft touches. He's not that confident.
