Hearn had nothing to do with it. He wasn't promoting the fight. It was purely between Dazn and Dibella. Dibella made it clear from the start that they were promoting here. So it's then down to him to negotiate a network deal. Hearn isn't a network owner. So Dibella negotiated with Dazn and Espn and chose Espn. Probably because he'd already done that for the Loma deal. That's good business on his part. But what part of that is awful negotiating by Hearn, as he wasn't negotiating anyway. That's on Dazn. But I suppose if I were the type of guy, who was just looking to come on to a thread and put down the object of my OCD, then I might blame Hearn also. Just for the hell of it.

Hearn is trying to save face of course.
You guys have to remember that Golden Boy has actually been 99% of DAZN's US value proposition. Hearn's blown DAZN's budget overpaying likes of Tevin Farmer, Andrade, and Haney because he failed to pick up well known guys from DAZN's stable. Haney is head and shoulders above the other two in terms of potential, but in reality he is never coming back to DAZN if he beats Kambosis.

Well...I'm pretty sure Hearn said he had promoted Haneys last 6 fights...so there's that. You can say it was purely between DAZN and Dibella...but that's not entirely true. Dibella isn't a network and DAZN isn't a promoter. If Hearn promotes he does it for for DAZN on behalf of Matchroom. All he is doing is covering the fact he couldn't secure the promotional rights...which meant he couldn't bring the fight to DAZN. If Haney was doing the fight on DAZN it would be under Eddie Hearn.

Here comes the HPA. (Hearn Protection Agency)

Hearn signed Haney, correct?
Paid him millions for multiple non-drawing fights, correct?
With the big money fight vs Kambosos going to ESPN him and DAZN are receiving 0% of the payoff, correct?
Whichever way you wanna spin it, Hearn has f***ed this situation up from a DAZN perspective as they’re getting no return for their investment in Haney. It’s inadequate strategy like this which is causing them to continually haemorrhage so much money stateside.Comment

Hearn should have shown Dibella respect when Kambo beat Teo, Dibella was refused entry into the ring, Kambo's own promoter ffs.
Hearn has repeatedly let Haney down never having a big fight. If Haney comes through this deal on top he'll stay a free agent signing similar short term deals like Canelo. This is the new way.Comment
