Comments Thread For: Josh Warrington Drops, Stops Kiko Martinez in Seven To Capture IBF Title

I think the first headbutt was the main cause of Martinez's defeat. He was buzzed and cut when he went down in the first round after that headbutt, and never really recovered. Besides, the blood hindered his sight; he could not see some of the punches coming. Still, when he was able to catch Warrington, he was hurting him. I do believe that without headbutts and cuts, Martinez would have stopped Warrington.Good performance by Warrington but those head clashes were bs. How many times can you fly in with your shoulder and head and bust up someone's face by doing it and not be deducted a point? Don't get be wrong, he dominated and deserved to me but that should not have gone unpunished.
And, for the record, the stoppage was premature for me, too.Comment

You said it GlassJoey. The fouls were rampant and nothing was done about it, from round 1 all the way to the 6, just before the premature stoppage. I am sick to my stomach listening to these DAZN commentators celebrating Josh Warrington's hollow victory considering they acknowledged all those headbutts during the fight.Comment

Great point , Warrington also had a broken jaw would have had to go 5 rounds with that who knows if he makes it ..IMHO the stoppage was also premature and said so in the fight thread..

You don't get reduced to this by punches only. Kiko looks as if he was hit by a sledgehammer.
