Comments Thread For: Schaefer Backs Pat McCormack To Become Pound For Pound Star Like Canelo

Richard Schaefer has made the same prediction about the future of Pat McCormack as he did for a young Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez - that the Olympian will become a pound-for-pound great.

Who's Pat McCormack? Maybe he's that good, don't overhype until we see.

Nowadays they hype the guys up too quickly, like Berlanga, and then we saw, as Teddy Atlas said, his record is better than he is.

But all the best to Pat.

He looked good as an amateur but not that level of special. 26 already so can't have too many development fights.

Is he fighting at 154? If so, then that division keeps adding talent! Salute to Xander Zayas!

Canelo then McCormack? The Irish are going to be running this sport for a while.

Pitty patty, basic predictable style, stiff, no power, average speed, 26 yo. What is there to say ?

He should be destroying this Wahid Bum if he were a future p4p star , look at how Beterbiev fights.

He isnt a bad boxer but nowhere near elite material.
