Comments Thread For: Hearn on Canelo Matchmaking Criticism: He Can't Win! R?sum? Speaks for Itself

Eddie Hearn thinks Canelo Alvarez is in an impossible situation as far as his "haters" are concerned. The head of Matchroom Boxing recently decried those critics who are holding the Mexican superstar to ludicrously high standards.

Eddie Reynoso's comments about Benavidez made Canelo look like a duck! He should've said "We think DAZN has the better opponents," and that's it! Honestly, I think Benavidez and Charlo, are better than Bivol and GGG!

Sometimes being around people like that it’s like being around AJ same thing. Unbelievable mindset. It’s so energizing to be around people like that.

Hearn gtfoh!! Never use a bodybuilder and p4p king in the same sentence.

In the literal sense he's correct. There's probably no boxer who'll 100% please everyone but he coulda minimized the criticism imo if he took care of business correctly in his career. The most blatant duck out of all those is Andrade. Nobody can tell me different. Notice how he is carefully omitted not only from this conversation but other notable ones. (Albeit he has been getting brought up more, recently but I won't get too deep on that.)

There's so much I can write on this dude's career but I'll just try to summarize some things. Logically had he took care of business chronologically I highly doubt we would be here. & yes the opportunities were there! This dude has BEEN able to fight whoever & whenever as soon as he's ready for almost a decade. He jumped to 175 when there was food on the table at 60 when no one asked him to, eventually left, then said people just wanted to see him lose when the prospect of fighting certain 75lbers was brought to him at that time.

He literally opened himself up to that criticism, now he's back there. This is a very strategic effort, & that is the main reason I don't like this dude because he & mainstream media act so oblivious to what he's doing & the stuff he gets away with.. For clarification at this particular time I'm not mad at his opponent selection I'm just mad at the reasons other fights weren't made WHEN they were SUPPOSED to be. & when has the time you decided to fight someone not mattered in boxing? Smh I digress on him.

As for Eddie Hearn, he is a straight clown. It's becoming disgusting at this point. This is the same dude that told us Canelo's legacy would forever be in question cause he popped dirty. He told us Canelo doesn't wanna seem to fight Andrade around the time he was SUPPOSED to be fighting him. But now acts as if Canelo "would & could never do no wrong" & he's so "above that it's not in his nature." GTFOH

He actually put them in the same sentence as greatness. He was going good until the end.

I agree with Hearn. They will always raise the bar for Canelo. If he fought one guy he avoided the other. But that has always been the way with the superstars and P4P of the sports. They didn't fight this guy or that guy. Bivol is a top bigger opponent with real skills and the bigger risk is Beterbiev. Everyone else is interesting but by far Canelo will be the favorite.

Benavides has trouble making the weight, has not really beaten anyone and his style will benefit Canelo. Charlo is skilled, has to come up and has no momentum what so ever in the ring with all his troubles outside the ring. If he don't fight GGG they will say that he avoided the 3rd fight.

All interesting matchups but he can't fight everyone at once.

He looks around the same a height as callum smith, sometimes a bit taller.
