I think Eddie Hearn backed out of the fight, or advised Benn to retreat.
The fight was there to be made, Brook & Ingle where very positive about the fight.

I value Ingle's perspective, and if Ingle is training Brook? This means, Brook has a definitive chance of beating Benn.
I honestly don't think Ingle would train Brook, if he thought it was not possible to get the win.
During the build up to the Khan fight, I was disregarding most interviews with Kell Brook 'Because as you know, fighters will always talk a good game'.
It was once I saw a no nonsense interview with Ingle, explaining that Brook was hitting all targets. I then stated to favor Brook to win the fight.
Ingle is not phased by ether Benn or Eubank Junior. So to me this means something. Brook is not at his peak, but he is still a capable fighter at a certain level.
I want Benn vs Brook to be made, I think it is a awesome fight.

What he can compare Benn to is Ennis's record which is relatively weak, Ennis is up to what 28 fights and Benn is 20 with no amateur record so if you're not ok with this fight you've got to have serious issue with Boots record and for the record I'm not saying the current Benn beats Ennis, Ortiz, Crawford or Spence.
Boots has almost being blacklisted for most of his career. Things will hopefully change with his new deal.
You just cannot compare without stating mitigating factors.
But because Van Heerdan was a replacement for boots, and is for Benn, I can let this slide. If Conor carries on with the pathetic level of competition he will lose His stock Massively.
Eddie claims Conor is a huge star, if so he would be able to afford any fight he wants. But he’s not a star. He’s not known outside england and that’s just facts.
pretty ironic how Eddie is trying to use the exact blueprint he did Joshua. Fight old men that have 5% of their ability left and a dwindling name. Have him fight up and down England and “da-da” magic formula! Or so he thinks lmfao.
seen it all before. IF The day comes when Conor steps in with an Ortiz or Ennis, he will be humiliated, similar to Naz by Barrera. Eddie knows this, that’s why he’s going this route.
PS,
lets remember how Eddie had claimed Conor isn’t fighting certain guys because they’re After “bigger names”Last edited by RoadMan94; 03-21-2022, 06:36 PM.

Instead of trying to justify a poor opponent for Benn by saying Ennis fought him and no one complained, just match Benn against Ennis, no need to see how they each do with that type of opponent at this stage of their careers.
Of course Ennis' resume is poor, but the man has been begging to fight the top guys for a minute and has not given the impression he would avoid a tough fight right now. Benn can pretty much pick whoever he wants, yet his resume is comparable to Ennis'. That's not a dig at Ennis, but it's a bad look for Benn who talks a big game and has the promotional privileges to get the big fights done if that's what he truly wanted.

Using that logic, just because the US invaded Iraq then Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is ok too.

And to miss out on those blockbuster mega fights against Jose Del Rio and Liam Taylor? Hearn really missed the boat on that one. You know what? Neil Marsh is right. Team Benn are conning the public. And Marsh should know. After all, when it comes to making elite match ups in the WW division, he's an absolute trailblazer. Shame on you Hearn. Get your digit out.
We all know Benn wants no part of Avanesyan or any welterweight under 35 with a pulse tbh.

Benn on the other hand has rejected an English title eliminator vs Isaac McLeod.
