Comments Thread For: Katie Taylor: If You Go Down List Of Fighters We've Faced, You'll Recognize More Names On My Resume

Katie Taylor readily acknowledges the difficult task she next faces in her upcoming pound-for-pound showdown with Amanda Serrano on April 30 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

I don't doubt Serrano being one of the very best female boxers but damn her resume is terrible. Absolutely paper thin with only a very small list of notable wins one of which whom beat her (not seen the fight tbf).

There were no complaints over the decision that Serrano lost. The woman who beat her suffered a bad injury in losing her next fight (I think) and had to retire. That was a long time ago though and Serrano has likely improved a lot since then. Nash out

Speaking of resumes, I just replayed Amanda 'The Real Deal' Serrano vs. Heather Hardy on DAZN, and was quite entertained by Serrano and impressed by how Heather managed to walk on fire ; they dont call her the 'Heat' for nothing. The Boriqua-Wrecking-ball exploded out of her corner from the sound of the bell like a raging volcano, she put it on Hardy -- like Amanda did to Miriam Gutierrez in her last fight.

I wonder, will Katie Taylor get knocked-out in one round? Taking into account that nobody can beat or handle Amanda's punching-power or relentless pressure in the first round, I decided to save myself some time and filling out my score-card ahead of time and giving round 1 to Amanda Serrano -- if Katie Taylor survives.

Serrano vs world titlists (no interim or IBO): 6-1
Taylor ws world titlists: 11-0, but that includes two robbery wins over Define Persoon

Just goes to show you how much better Cecilia Braekhus was in her prime. Braekhus was 17-2 against legit world champions and both losses came when she was washed up. Beat surefire future Hall of Famers including Anne Sophie Mathis twice, Erica Farias, Mia St John, Myriam Lamare, Chevelle Hallbeck, etc.

Good article, I've been saying this for a while and the response from serrano fanboys was predictable. Serrano resume is very poor for someone fighting over a decade in the pro ranks. I think this will be much easier for Katie Taylor than people think.

I actually think Katie Taylor is on the decline. She’s nearly 36 and I think in the fights where she’s had capable opponents in the last 2-3 years, she’s definitely showing a bit of a decline in her sharpness etc. the problem is womens boxing is mostly garbage so some of her other opponents have been so limited that it hasn’t really shown. Some actually even felt she was fading as an amateur back around 2016 compared to a few years earlier, I’m not sure. But I think she has faded now compared to around 4 years ago.

If Serrano is as good as she’s supposed to be, then she should be able to have some success now,
