It is pretty obvious to see. Pitty Patty Bivol is going to run and turn and pivot and tap. Very unfriendly style to watch and Canelo is just going to dog walk him all night.
'Pitty Patty' Bivol is going to lose a UD against Canelo

Power isn’t everything.
Bivol v Canelo is going to be a high level technical boxing match. Bivol has enough power to keep anyone honest anyway.
Besides, it’s not like Canelo is a huge puncher. Plenty of fighters went the distance with him, fighters that have been flattened by other fighters. Even his win v BJS, it was a freak injury but still never looked like dropping him. Could hit Callum Smith at will and never hurt him. Jacobs has been stopped before and even dropped by the likes of Mora and Canelo couldn’t hurt him. Cotto had been stopped by smaller men.
Plant aside, the only fighters he’s ever been able to put on the floor are guys like Yildirim who Eubank stopped quicker, Khan, Kovalev who had been stopped twice in his previous few fights etc. Kirkland who was stopped quicker by a Japanese fighter with 6 knockouts. Even in the plant fight, anybody that saw him against Uzcategui knew that he was probably going to fade late and get stopped
So it’s a myth that Canelo is a big puncher. He’s a sharp and accurate puncher but so is Bivol. I’ve seen nothing in Canelo’s punching ability or power to think he can walk down Bivol with any ease.Last edited by deathofaclown; 03-20-2022, 01:17 PM. -
Bivol isn't used to this stage he will be star struck, maybe Canelo's power isn't everything but it is sure more than Bivol's. Also Canelo is used to fighting smaller guys who are more athletic, faster, and better fighters. The slow movements of a natural LHW will be slowmotion to Canelo, he has fought against Lara, Mayweather. There is nothing Bivol can do to suprise Canelo.Power isn’t everything.

I think Bivol is levels better than canelo's recent opponents. I think this will be a cherry pick gone wrong, Canelo always carefully picks and chooses his opponents. He has had an easy time agaist that white European style lately, but I think he has been so blinded by his own arrogance and narcissism that he doesn't see Bivol as a threat. Bivol is an outstanding fighter and if he can take Canelo's power he will outbox him.Comment

Tbh, many of us long time boxing fans know how this goes. Canelo signed a multi fight deal with DAZN, so from a economic standpoint, the powers of boxing will do plenty to keep the Canelo cash flowing. Bivol has to win rounds VERY CONVINCINGLY to get a decision. Close rounds will go to Canelo. DAZN can't afford to lose out on the Canelo-GGG money machine
Unless Bivol completely beats the piss out of him or knocks him out, he won't get a decision hitting Canelo one or two times more than Canelo hits him during the rounds. He really has to put something on Canelo, otherwise it'll be just business for DAZN.
I like Bivol though. Really good fighter. He'll give Canelo issues. But, i cant see a way for him to win. Too many things stacked up against him. Networks seems to have their minds up on seeing the Canelo-GGG trilogyComment

I get that angle but Bivol just has that basic run of the mill Eastbloc boxing style. He had 300 fights I believe and that Amateur style is in his DNA. I just do not think that that is enough to suprise Canelo with anything. Canelo will be of similar size or slightly smaller, so size is not going to be an issue.I think Bivol is levels better than canelo's recent opponents. If we were talking Beterbiev than yeah, Canelo would have to be going through a meat grinder, but Bivol ... I was not really impressed by his performance against Smith, he stole the fight by slighty outpointing Smith in close rounds and stinking the joint for the most part, while Smith was trying to make it a fight, it takes 2 to tango. Didnt like that performance, Smith did not even have a single scratch afterwards.
If they make the Ring small in Vegas and the floor soft too avoid all that running he did in the Smith fight, then I think Canelo could stop him.Comment
