One fighter must be moving up, the other has to be established at the weight.

It's ok if udk, you don't have to comment.

    Good question.

A lot of weight jumpers tended to have a few tune ups first, or if not a few one.

Best example I can think of is Henry Armstrong's first fight at WW vs Barney Ross.

Not Roy's first fight at 168 officially.

There's a few examples like this.

The same, technically not his first fight at Featherweight.

Same applies for Ray Leonard vs Hagler.

So you're gonna tell me Hopkins/Tarver don't count either cause Hopkins debut was at 175 right? Thats what we doing here?

It's what the TS is asking.

First fight at the weight class vs prime elite fighter.

So if a welterweight with a non-title fight, comes in at 148, he's technically fought at jr. middleweight. So if he moves up years later to campaign at 154, he's already been there before? Is that really the point of the question?
