It's a very ****** boxing fight because Canelo would knock Usman into the next galaxy.

A prime Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Canelo in the boxing ring (boxing rules, but the Stone Cold Stunner is allowed) would have been a helluva fight. Stone Cold was an awesome inside pressure fighter, also would have the big weight advantage, and the stunner, So that would have been a war. Stone Cold's resume is even better than Canelo's with the likes of The Rock, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Kane, HHH, Jake the Snake and many more. Nash out.

Mayweather vs McGregor was meaningful. Both were related with boxing and face of their sports.

Canelo vs Usman is shıt. Usman isn't even a striker. He is wrestler. He isn't face of MMA like Conor. Canelo is like Mayweather but Usman is shıt.

I agree with Dana on this one. Canelo vs. Usman won't be as big as Mayweather vs. McGregor simply because Usman doesn't have the star power that Conor does or did. But I also can't be completely against this fight because I know why Usman is calling for it; the payday. UFC fighters are underpaid and it's a brutal sport. So with that being said, if it happens it happens. If it doesn't, I wouldn't care.

Yeah I’ve no interest in that.

Floyd v Conor was fun because they were the only true crossover stars in their sports, real household names all over the world. The fight itself was never going to matter, it wasn’t really about that, it was the whole event.

As much as Canelo fanboys don’t wanna hear it, Canelo isn’t even a household name in most countries, My friends and family who don’t follow boxing don’t really know him, he’s also not really known in countries where boxing isn’t a big deal. The likes of Floyd were known everywhere, McGregor was too, Pacquiao was too at one time. As big as Canelo is in boxing, he’s still not got their level of fame worldwide and Usman barely has any at all, in terms of being know your average Joe on the street.

A lot of the people that see it, casuals in particular, are not going to look at the finer points of the situation ie Usman being limited by the rules etc, they're just gonna see him face down on the canvas, and it will severely damage his credibility.
Yeah - at the end of the day it is:

              1) Bad for the UFC brand for their guy to get KTFO by a boxing guy
              2) Bad for UFC contract negotiations when a fighter than makes 400k in UFC goes and makes 10mil+ in a boxing match.

There are zero positives for UFC in allowing this match to happen.

Probably cause it won't be choreographed and they won't be riding on the same jet together

Ufc, it’s fans, it’s backers, it’s money men are always and have always been in support of boxers with no ground training going to the ufc and getting owned. At the same time, dana-dub an all the little geeky nerdy suburbanite American fighter/tap out/affliction shirt wearing hipsters go into meltdown when ever the prospect of a big time ufc fighter gets destroyed by a boxer….

Bro i'm an MMA fan and James Toney is also one of my favourite boxers. I was totally against that dumb pointless shyt back then and I wasnt the only one either. Theres plenty of people that are fans of both sports.
