Does John"close fight"Ryder deserve a Canelo superfight more than David"can't get right"Benevidez?

Just wondering what arguments anyone wants to make for each?
I'd argue that Ryder is far more proven,but Benevidez has a more threatening mojo.(I just don't see how DB has anywhere near experience required,but Ryder can be tricky because hes shorter & can fight inside.)

Based on recent criteria....John Ryder. He has a mid level executives resume...he's British...and he's a draw in the right location. Benevidez doesn't understand that 168 is a euro specific division. The only reason anyone outside Europe fights in that division is because Canelo is there. Before him there was little interest in the division and when he retires there won't be any at all. And the only reason Canelo is there is because he spotted all the cannon fodder and realised he could feast there alone for as long as he wants. Eddie will feed him them all.

I got Benavidez by TKO lol Ryder needed a very Favorable Hometown/Home Country Whatever Decision vs a Washed Up unmotivated Danny Jacobs after being dominated most of that fight yet somehow that makes it OK for Canelo to fight him?

I guess for Canelo's UK Debut, Ryder would be a decent Dance Partner but it is not something people prefer obviously...well besides some of you Brits I guess

He should have a win over Callum Smith and he has a win over Jacobs. That’s better than anything Benavidez has done.

Benavidez should put some good wins together and start actually making weight and people will call for that fight.

Benavidez probably has a higher ceiling than Ryder but that means nothing until he starts getting good names on his record and staying professional enough to make weight.

I’ve no interest in Canelo facing either right now but would certainly be interesting in the Benavidez fight if he starts living up to his supposed potential.

As for Ryder v Canelo, well Ryder has nothing to trouble Canelo with, neither stylistically or in terms of ability. Pretty much a pointless fight.

Holy crap the world is going insane now. You are totally ignoring the fact he has 5 losses, never been a WC and is literally a gate keeper? Just ignoring that because he beat a shot Jacobs who moved to 168 and Callum Smith who is nothing special? Christ this is comical now to suggest John Ryder is a more credible fight than David Benavidez, christ we have reached peak ******.

Tarver, mayweather, Tyson, Bradley, Pavlik, Crawford, to name a few are demanding he fights Benavidez but no its John Ryder lol. Find me one journalist or boxer who is calling for that fight just one. lol.
