So multiple people are saying it was due to weight issues. Dang, that sucks if true. Why couldn't he have tried to see if he could negotiate with McKinson's team to have the fight at 150 or something?

Ortiz should never have left Garcia in the first place but looks like his camp was impacted with him not knowing who his trainer was going to be and trying out a few different gyms.

Hope he gets back in the ring soon.

I don't know what's going on with Mexican boxing nowadays but I want this chit fixed now dammit! I bet the old school Mexican boxers are just as mad as me. All of this ducking and dodging, NBF, franchise belts, clenbuterol, herbal tea, mental stress and all the other distractions that this generation of Mexican boxers are plagued with. I'm going to ask the Mexican government boxing department a.k.a The WBC, to start a new school called SALVADOR SANCHEZ UNIVERSITY. The Dean of the school will be Julio Ceasar Chavez. The buildings on the campus will be named after Rockabye Ruben Olivares and Carlos Zarate. The professors will be Oscar de la Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Mikey Garcia and Raul Marquez. All young boxers of Mexican descent have to complete one year of university before moving on to the professional ranks. There they will be taught the honor and tradition of Mexican boxing. They will be taught that there is no such thing as franchise belts or the use of steroids. Mental stress is for Mental midgets. And rule numero uno: YOU FIGHT BLACK AMERICANS TO THE DEATH AT ALL TIMES. PERIOD POINT BLANK! These youngsters today must have forgotten that!

I guess they're trying to find McKinson a replacement. Not sure if that means they don't just elevate Cobbs-Rocha to main event.

Very sorry to hear, hope he gets well soon.

Never heard of such a condition, sounds terrible. What's happening to these fighters nowadays, lots of drama.

That’s a shame, was looking forward to that.

People were thinking it’s going to a blowout, it wouldn’t be. McKinson is seriously tricky and has a very good boxing IQ, no real power but power isn’t everything

He’s like Catterall in the sense he’s quite unknown but has a lot of boxing intelligence, which is why I said before the Taylor fight that if he’s not prepared, it’ll be tricky for him.

If Ortiz ended up overlooking McKinson because he’s not a name, he may have ended up in a much trickier fight than he expected. So I was looking forward to it, although I expected Ortiz to win.

                  Shame it’s not happening.
