Ali,
Did I not clearly state "I do not accuse anyone"? CLEARLY?
I think it's ridiculous that you ignored that.Comment

Yes. You can work hard. But please believe that EVERY top fighter works superhard. You don't think Cotto busts his ass in the gym? Marquez? Floyd?
All I'm saying is that it would not surprise me in the least. A guy who moves up through multiple weight classes while retainng - and increasing - his power and explosiveness. A guy who lives in a foreign country, and trains in SoCal - a hotbed of the bodybuilding/steroid culture. a guy who had added weight and remained extremely lean. Etc. Without being too closed-minded, it's not as if Asian welterweights are falling out of trees.
I had also said that it wouldn't have surprised me to hear Hatton was on roids. His physical trainer was a former bodybuilder who works in that culture. Hatton lifts abnormally high weights. His boxing trainer seemed a bit too comfortable with needles (remember?). And Hatton seems to have high water retention.
I do not accuse anyone. But I observe.Comment

While I can understand how Mosley got away with using EPO since it was 10 years ago and tests weren't not as sensitive to foreign substances--I'm flabbergasted as to how Pacquiao--IF found true to be using roids--could get away with it for nearly a decade. Doesn't Pacquiao take the same tests adminstered by the Nevada State Atheletic Commissionm as MMA fighters, many who have been found positive with some form of steroid, like Royce Gracie or Josh Barnett? I mean--is Pacquiao that sneaky and underhanded? And how does he get away with it?Comment

Mike,
It doesn't work that way. Slander and libel are civil cases, and your statement indicates that you don't have a deep understanding of the tort process.
Turn on the news and open a newspaper. You will see people speculating every day on a whole range of issues. Read any op-Ed column. There would be suits ad infinitum if every statement that was derogatory was considered sladerous.
And, additionally, what would Manny's recompense be? How did Manny suffer (in dollars) from that statement? The "burden of proof" would actually be on MP to show that he was measurably damaged by that statement, and to show HOW and HOW MUCH he lost.Last edited by extracurRICular; 09-15-2009, 01:30 PM.Comment

But wouldn't his urine sample after the fight show whether he's taken steroids or not?Comment

So Money May could most likely be using roids as well since he also has the resources to hire a really good conditioning coach/ doctor... Hmmm...Comment

Depends. If he's still on the cycle, yes. If not, no. Depends on how it's done. Look at Jameel McCline, for instance. Think he wasn't on the juice? Look at how he looked against Arreola - like someone ****** the muscle right out of him. Tell me...how come he never got caught?Comment
