  • Comments Thread For: Munguia, Golden Boy Challenge Claim that Charlo Fight No Longer In Play

Jaime Munguia and his U.S. promoter either believe they have more time on the clock or are in damage control mode. Both could very well be the case. Upon reports that Tijuana's Munguia's side fumbled the snap on a discussed challenge of WBC middleweight titlist Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22KOs), both Munguia and promoter Oscar De La Hoya

Great fight if it can be made. We’ll finally get to really see what both guys are really made of. I’m not holding my breath though. Politics always seems to get in the way of great fights being Made….

TL;DR: Charlo and Munguia have already agreed to terms but Dela Hoya and GBP blocked the fight from happening and only wants the fight to happen on DAZN or no Munguia fight!

Based on history, the fight will fall through, it will be golden boys fault but Oscar will run to the media and make up some fake story (as coke heads tend to do) about how they tried to make the fight but everyone other than Munguia priced themselves out.

It sounds like the fighters are onboard but golden boy strictly wants it on dazn.

You can’t read. The article said GB wants a co-promotion and PBC wants the first fight on Showtime and the rematch to be on DAZN if Charlo loses. Learn to read idiot.

Wrong. PBC wanted showtime PPV in America and DAZN PPV in Europe and Mexico. No way should Oscar settle for this arrangement. Munguia is a future superstar who eventually will fight the the Main Man in a mega fight. Charlo doesn’t have much to offer in resume, popularlty, or revenue stream. Munguia is looked at as a much better fighter and Charlo will stay in obscurity.

Smfh. Charlo needs Munguia more than Munguia needs charlo. This could be his breakthrough fight just like Spencer and stank had theirs with Mexican fighters.

idk how anybody gonna side with pbc knowing pbc dont want to co promote AND itll most likely be ppv.
