Munguia has to fight Carlos Adames first to get Charlo, doesn't he? Unless Adames steps aside?
For that reason I predict he'll fight Janibek Alimkhanuly instead.
Charlo can fight Mungia in a voluntary defense and skip Adames I believe but I doubt Mungia takes that route he seems to wanna take the softer touch and isnt concerned with legacy it's all about his record.
I think charlo is the easiest of the three options. Don’t know if Oscar will swallow his pride and do business with Haymon though. Munguia has to fight someone eventually and charlo is winnable and makes him a star if he wins. He can then go back to fighting bums while seeing if a Canelo fight materializes.
Keith Idec if Andrade vacated the belt why would Munguia be in talks to fight for the interim belt. CONTRADICTION!
If Munguia fights Charlo next he's a clown. PBC can offer Munguia a fight but they can't negotiate with Andrade when both are champions smh.
On one hand this is an alley oop for Charlo, on the other hand it could be an alley oop gon wrong. But PBC is playing chess. Y'all see how they're trying to entice Canelo if Charlo beat Munguia? They wanna get the Mexicans excited.
Well Andrade has "partially" vacated the belt:
"BoxingScene.com has learned that Andrade would not be at risk of losing his WBO title outside the ring should he next face Parker. However, he would need to win the fight and then decide whether to drop back down in weight at which point he would be mandated to next face Alimkhanuly. A decision to remain at super middleweight or even a loss to Parker would result in the WBO middleweight title being declared vacant and with Alimkhanuly to face the next highest-ranked available contender."
Demetrius Andrade appears to have made his choice. The sanctioning body whose title he holds just needs it in writing. A seemingly final extension has been granted by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) as it relates to its mandatory middleweight title fight. Andrade was previously ordered to next defend his belt versus Kazakhstan’s Janibek Alimkhanuly, though a purse bid hearing scheduled for Friday at WBO headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico has been removed from the calendar.
That being said, Andrade was able and willing to cross the street for Charlo, Hearn even offered 7mil. Now that Munguia is across the street, Charlo is willing to consider the other side of the street. And I'm not even saying that Andrade beats Charlo for the record.
Yeah probably. I hope he fights Charlo but barely anybody ever “crosses over to the other side of the street” nowadays so I think the smart money is on Munguia vs Zhanibek happening on DAZN in the summer.
I mean what if TR wins the purse bid? Munguia would have to leave DAZN anyways. Also, I'm not sure if GBP/DAZN have agreed to a long-term deal yet. So GBP may just take this fight on SHO for a big purse.
Sadly, this is what most likely will happen. Both would derail whatever they're trying to build with Mungia. Adames would be a decent fight and far better comp than would Mungia has faced thus far I guess.

Canelo can do whatever he pleases to do. This isn't a chess move to entice Canelo but just that PBC/SHO had to get Charlo a big fight after he missed out on a 8 figure payday. You cannot go from Canelo to fighting someone like Dirrell or Montiel or whoever.

What’s the split? I imagine it’ll be weighted in Munguia’s favour.
