Comments Thread For: Mauricio Lara Scores Two Knockdowns, Flattens Emilio Sanchez In Third Round

SAN DIEGO - Mauricio 'Bronco' Lara felt slighted in not fighting for a featherweight title and took out his aggression on Emilio Sanchez. A high-contact featherweight affair saw Lara twice floor Sanchez en route to a third-round knockout. Lara dropped Sanchez midway through round one and again just before the bell to end the third round, with the fight halted on the spot by referee Ray Corona at 2:59 of round three Saturday evening at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California.

Lars is not convincing at all. He was looking for a way out and because his opponent was so limited he was able to catch him with reckless hooks that a world class fighter should not be getting hit with.

lara is fun but he is a KO waiting to happen and is not elite

Anybody else notice the clock on this fight?? It went over the 3 min mark by almost 13 seconds on the final round!

I thought it had to be paused due to the fall they both suffered in the clinch.

That was a crazy fight! Looked like it took a couple of years out of their careers tho.
