When did Andre Ward become an embarrassing sell out?

I can’t pin point his decline into Top Rank shill. It snuck up on me. He should be fired for his blatant bias and repeated attempts to make the viewing public dumber on all matters boxing.

He has no shame, him thinking Taylor won last week was almost as outrageous as him thinking he best kovalev in the first fight and that he didn't constantly low blow him in the rematch.

Good boxer, dull as can be for most of his career and one of the worst pundits and commentators of this generation.

You essentially put your soul in a box the moment you work for a influential television or media outlet.

I originally studied journalism at university and was looking to get into the boxing media but they essentially just want you to consistently lie to the public. I care far too much about the sport to ever sink to that level. I have little to no respect for any of these so called boxing pundits. They’re all sell-outs.

The worse thing about Ward though is I’d assume he doesn’t even need the money. It’s not like he’s a Johnny Nelson or Bellew, the guy made millions, he should be set for life.

Bad pundit. Lost to Kovalev, cheated in the rematch with the help of the paid off ref, and ran into retirement taking his "unbeaten" record with him. Ducked Golovkin, ducked Joshua, ducked Eddie Hills, ducked well past prime Brian Sutherland in a street fight. The man is a chicken. Nash out.

Tony Bellew probably made more money with those two Haye PPV fights and the Usyk fight.

Also the UK is friendlier on those wanting to get out of the game (working life). The max council tax (property tax) is like $4000-5000 a year.

Means you can afford to live in your multimillion pound house that you’ve bought without a huge income to boot

Bellew was the B side in both those fights though. He got over £2m for the rematch I believe.

Didn’t Ward clear like $6m though for the Kovalev rematch?

He only made 2 mill on the rematch? Dang I thought it would’ve been more than that.

That's an interesting detail. Not that I ever studied British property taxes. I just assumed that they are overtaxed there, and wouldn't have guessed there is such a low limit (low from the perspective of folks with lots of $).

There may have been PPV upside on top of that but in sure the purse was only around £2m.

alot of times it isnt about the money. Its about the attention and feeling relevant.
