No they don't have too, thousands dead and millions of refuges. They choose dead or relocation. Fine with me, one way or another

By the time this fight comes around, half of the people pretending to care now will have forgotten and moved on to something else. If the crowds are hostile towards him it's because it'll be a bunch of rabid Canelo fans upset that he lost.

Quite possibly so. I just sort of feel bad for Bivol because even though he just happens to be Russian, to many uninformed or ignorant, Russian = Russian = ***** = bad. So hopefully he can simply focus on the fight.

In 1936, Hitler and his **** regime were plotting war in Europe, yet the Berlin Olympic games took place that year. Joe Louis also fought Max Schmeling that same year. I never read anything that stated the athletes were scrutinized. I understand why they won't play Russia's national anthem during the fight, as it may stir some ignorant fans to take it out on Bivol and his corner. It could even start fights among fans. However, for some sanctioning bodies to ban Russian fighters is ruthless and unfair. Now if they are in the Russian army and go back to fight the Ukrainians, different story.

I think it's not so much a 'punishment' for being Russian, I think more so them being afraid of whatever image that may be reflected if they didn't do it, especially when every other major sport is doing so. I guess it protects how they might look.

I sort of understand your point, but that is a bad analogy. Drug cartels are not armored, invading armies bombing civilians under false pretenses. Drug cartels also exist in other countries besides Mexico, while these Russian invading armies pretty much are confined to one country of origin.

However, your general point of should athletes and citizens not directly responsible for what the Military Dictatorship (which is what exists in Russia) be punished when they cannot stop them for fear of their own lives is completely fair.

So you compare 1930s to 2022 internet age, the world has changed dramatically.

The direction in which people think in here blows my mind.
