Hunter is a strange choice, AJ needs a more aggressive style but Hunter is not that type, couldn't do anything with Khan, if AJ becomes even more defensive and afraid to engage then he goes down this time to Usyk. Best wishes to all in Ukraine

Fury is a fighting man and would have a scrap with you in a car park. Usyk is defendng his country with weapons and shows no fear.
Yet AJ is still selecting a coach after all these months because he's a corporate boxer who's had the might of Sky behind him his whole career.
He hasn't displayed heart in the fights when he's not been allowed to be the bully (except against a shot Klitschko), so a new coach won't make a difference at this stage of his career.

Excellent post! Post of the day! That made me laugh… The influence of tv… Reminds me of when i was a young lad around 10 or so. I thought wrestling was real & I was a diehard Stampede Wrestling fan. The Hart Family owned it. They had a wrestler named Duke Myers who wore those short tights with suspenders. His thing was he wore a bowling glove & he would load it with something. He would knock the guy out & then pin him for the 3 count. This inspired me on the Greengrove Avenue wrestling Alliance (GAWA) circuit. We would be wrestling & i’d come off the monkey bars (Top rope) with my bike glove loaded with a battery & crack my neighbour in the head before rolling him up for the 3 count. Then I would run like hell. Usually the parents would pay a visit to my house shortly after. Soon nobody wanted to wrestle anymore…

I'm sure Reynoso fans are going wilder.
Valdez is about to get obliterated by Shakur
Virgil Ortiz left
Ryan Garcia left and still stiff and can't under punches and tuck his chin
Andy Ruiz was getting buckled by a shot Areola.
Frank Sanchez - The jury is still out.
Hunter
Angulo busted up vs. Lara
Khan almost put in a Coma
Berto Eyes Closed Shut and I'm not taking the movie.
I can't think of anyone else off the top but I've never seen an elite fighter look good with him.

Joshua has already tried to go down this route, and it does not sync with his innate style. Which is simple straight forward, and fundamental boxing.
Decent jab, combination punching, determination, physicality, a bit of upper body movement and blocking 'That is Anthony Joshua'.
His Jab does need improving, and his inside fighting capability. Joshua does not know how to apply rough house tactics, or tie a fighter up.
If Joshua had these dimensions to his game, he would of done better against Ruiz Junior & Usyk. Joshua compared to the past super heavyweights, does not really utilize his size 'He is not very good at fighting a big man fight'.
Fighting at a distance, is not a big man fight. A big man fight is wrestling a fighter on the inside, rough house tactics, along with a solid jab.
Tyson Fury, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Kiltschko had this dimension to their game.

I don’t think he’s beaten anyone that he wouldn’t have beaten before Hunter.
Time will tell though, if he starts showing some improvements in the above areas then we can credit Hunter
Just in general, I don’t ever seem to recall any fighter going to Hunter and making big improvements. Maybe there’s a reason why no true A level fighters outside of Ward ever really opted to work with him. It’s often guys nearing the end or coming off losses and hopping grok
trainer to trainer etc.
The last thing I would want to see for AJ is for him to be in trouble again, going back to the corner, only to have Hunter standing outside the ring trying to give him instructions where AJ has to turn his head and lean in to hear him like Khan had to.
