It's a bad situation for the Ukrainian fighters, I hope this doesn't affect their careers but it's very possible that it will. As for AJ v Usyk 2, it's not looking good for the foreseeable future. It's hard to tell if AJ even wants it, he doesn't seem anywhere near as keen for this rematch as he was for Ruiz. We'll see, it's a fight I wanted to happen to see the adjustments AJ makes, improvements Usyk may make, as well as a step closer to an undisputed fight.
It's not a delay caused by promoters/fighters playing silly games, unfortunately it's one of those unavoidable situations. I'm even more glad now that Fury v Whyte is signed since there might be potential delays with Usyk. It would've been a mess if AJ accepted a step-aside deal for Fury v Usyk which would've likely been delayed/cancelled because of the war in Ukraine and we'd potentially be left with no big fights at heavyweight.
