Agreed. I wanted to see the fight, and I'm sure that many other people did, but what's going on in Ukraine right now is far, far bigger than boxing. People are dying and an entire nation's freedom is in mortal peril. Any organisation with the ability to do anything that increases its pressure on Russia to cease its brutal and immoral attack must do so. If anything, I would like to see the alphabet orgs take their stance even further and outright strip belts from all Russian fighters and suspend them all from its rankings until Russia withdraws its forces from Ukrainian territory. Follow the example of FIFA, UEFA and Formula 1 amongst other governing bodies in sport. Every last bit of pressure from business, finance, sports, cultural etc. institutions must be applied.
