You might want to check his fight aginst Arce out... I haven't seen it, but people talk about it like it was a boxing masterpiece. Literally one of the most comprehensive boxing clinics that the sport has seen is the report on it.I don't think I've seen enough good Mijares fights, but the ones I have seen...I honestly never understood how he was so highly reguarded. The few fights I've seen him in he struggled with average fighters. I didn't think he had a chance with Vic, he just looked way too small and frail for someone like Vic. I don't know if it's a lack of Mijares exposure I've seen, or if it's because the only fighter at those lower weightclasses I've ever really paid attention to was Rafa. Eitherway, as much as people would talk about this kid, I kinda wish I caught some of his better fights.
In addition, he beat a tough challenger in Navarro, and unified the belts with Munoz. He definitely wasn't a one hit wonder who fell off... he was a really good fighter who got away from the style that gave him the success that got him on top.Comment

I ain't surprised. He said he knew it was a do or die fight. He just seems like he ain't got it no more. He really fell off badly after the beatdown by Vic. A crash like that is sad, but no point goin on as a journeyman. I hope he does retire before he gets hurt.Comment

I'll check those out, but the fights I've seen him in kinda left a lasting impression. He just seemed to be a tall frail fighter. Stood straight up, could be hit by anybody. You might want to check his fight aginst Arce out... I haven't seen it, but people talk about it like it was a boxing masterpiece. But if he had a few good performances, it wouldn't surprise me. I mean there's a grip of Golden Gloves winners who put on great fights, but can't really do anything major in the pro's.
I think what I'm tryin to pin point on Mijares is his ability to stay consitient in dexerity. People talk about him like a master boxer, but again, the fights I seen him in...he was getting touched by nobodies. He was still besting them, but it wasn't easy for him.Comment
