If a fighter defeats somebody of a lower weight class, does it make him a better boxer? Nope. We are not in a wilderness with "survival of the fittest", we are looking at a sport, which divides the contenders by weight, age, and sex (there are boxing women, too).

And if you compare the best of division X to the best of division Y, you simply NEED to get rid of the primary factor dividing them -the weight. So, everything beyond that is a fantasy setting.

Wladimir is fast, strong, experienced, disciplined, defensive and more. We all give him that. And we all know that size is not everything (make a poll of "Valuev vs. Wlad - who would win?).

But there are boxers, who would probably outbox Wlad if they WERE the same division. If Wlad WERE 6'0'' and weighed 168lbs, with corresponding diminished reach and power, he would have difficulties winning the SMW tournament. He'd be a contender, but would he be the winner? Vs. Kessler or Abraham? We will never know.
