Lol. Tell me you've never been in a fight with someone without telling me you've never been in a fight.
When you mix it up with someone, you have respect after the fight. That's how it goes.
I was going to bring up something similar. How Khan & Brook acted towards one another after the fight? Is kind of normal man behavior 'Not all men act this way after sorting out their differences, but most will'.
Plus these guys are at the back end of their careers. Both have them have been world champions, so it is not like they where blocking each other from achieving their goals.
It was a genuine rivalry, and there was a dislike there. I can still see tension between them, I can pick up on this 'But there is now a easing off and a compassionate respect'.
Nope the animosity was real and they only showed sportsmanship for the cameras.
It was obvious by the way both guys were swinging at each other in the early rounds without feeling out.
Khan threw and missed a vicious left hook in round 1 like he wanted to take Brook's head off. And Brook was no different. Boy had some mad muster on those punches unlike in his previous fights.
The fight is over, Khan's career may be over so? What is the point in carrying on the rivalry? They have both achieved a lot, Amir Khan especially.
Hate is a strong word, genuine dislike and competitive rivalry? Yes for sure that is what the situation was between Khan & Brook etc
Very few fighters hate each other.
This how I feel on it. I think they disliked each other for different reasons. Brook never achieved the fame and status that Khan achieved. Brook chased Khan because a win over him could have given him that status and respect.
I think Khan felt like he was on another level to Brook (probably in both status and ability) and didnt feel like Brook deserved the opportunity from Khan.
You could see that pent up emotion coming from Brook in the fight. I also saw Khan biting down on his gumshield in an effort to survive the assault.
I always felt Brook was the more gracious of the two and I think you saw that overture of respect at the end because Brook won. I'm not entirely sure Khan would have been as gracious if he was the victor, I'd like to hope so.
