if he had dedicated his life to boxing more in between fights, he would have been something else.

as it was, i think he could have squeaked out a victory against spence if the ggg fight didnt happen.

i think he would have been able to do the same against crawford tbh

He would've been great if they didn't do what they did sacrificing him to Golovkin.

A solid win over porter is pretty decent in itself

Could have been a really good gatekeeper.

People say he couldn't make WW any longer and above WW he had no future.

He was probably at Porters level in his prime imo. Good enough to win a world title, but will fall short when fighting the elites.

For what it's worth, I thought Brook was one of the best 4 round fighters I've seen since Zab Judah lol dudes very tricky in the first few rounds, but usually fades after. Good fighter overall, I enjoyed watching him throughout his career

Same level as Porter, Danny Garcia, Thurman, just below Crawford, Spence, and the like. So world class, but not elite. Nash out.

Brook's main problem is that his best weight is probably 150lbs. Even before he went up to 160 and back down, his best weight was 150lb and that got worse over time. I think if he fought spence above 147lbs the night they fought it goes the full 12 rds and close decision either way.

I do think he could potentially have a late career swansong but he's got to live the life, and fight above WW. My gut however tells me that he will fight a money fight, ie Eubank. Kell is competitive in that fight but I think he's outsized and gets beaten

He didn't fight enough world level guys to know for sure. Porter was a great win, N'dou was washed, Senchenko was near prime, Khan and Brook were both washed by the time they fought, and the other three champs Brook faced stopped him.

                    Brook vs legitimate world titlists:
                    W vs Lovemore N'dou UD 12
W vs Vyacheslav Senchenko TKO 4
W vs Shawn Porter MD 12
L vs Gennadiy Golovkin TKO 5
L vs Errol Spence Jr KO 11
L vs Terence Crawford TKO 4
W vs Amir Khan TKO 6

By comparison, Khan's record against titlists (no Regular or interim): 10-5, but a lot of those were against guys way over the hill and/or way out of their weights like Billy Dib, Zab Judah, and Gairy St Clair.

He was good enough to beat Porter before Thurman and Crawford beat him.

                      Prime Brook was no joke.

GGG fight ruined him. Spence looked amateurish in early rounds...I think that Brook would have beaten Spence without that crazy GGG fight before.
