No, he was dealing with a fighter who was damaged goods from the start. Amir always had a glass jaw and now he doesn't have anymore balance in his legs. It's just that Khan is now a ruined, shot and washed up fighter at this stage of his career that's all. No trainer would be able to save his career now.

I don't know, but I was extremely unimpressed by Khan's preparation for this fight, and if BoMac--as head trainer--is ultimately responsible for that, I'm not confident that he will prove widely successful with fighters who come to him in the future.
Obviously boxing trainers do not need to be in great shape themselves in order to successfully train their charges, but I don't think it was a coincidence that fitness fanatic Dominic Ingle seemed to have a much better handle on the need to appropriately balance stress with rest in order to produce the desired adaptations.
