Khan v Brook - My Thoughts

hey people been a while since i been on the forum long time!!!

soooooo cant wait proper hyped about this fight khan vs brook, even thought its a fair few years too late

initially thought brook would KO khan years ago in their prime as brook has excellent timing but now i think its a bit of a 50/50 as its a matter of whos got more left in the tank

after watching the weigh in i think brooks shoulders and back look absolutely shredded, i got a feeling he will KO khan

i can see this fight playing out like khan vs danny garcia,
khan will come with speed and school brook for a few rounds then will get clipped by a beautifully timed shot

anyways i dont really give a **** who wins as long as its a good tear up,
im genuinely watching as a neutral and hope its a good fight

btw undercard looks crap, only half decent fight is that Natasha's fight

Watching as a neutral, maybe slightly for Khan. Would feel bad if Khan wins and keeps clowning Brook though.

I've been changing my mind about this one but I'm staring to lean towards Brook. I don't think Khan has the legs to box and move for 12 rounds and will probably start trading a lot sooner which suits Brook more. Having said that, even when Kell starts to time Khan, will it be an instant KO like some expect? Crawford was landing bombs on Khan and he was still there until the fateful shot to the balls. This could end up being a gruelling fight for both of them and might come down to who has more left or who wants it more.

honestly i think brook will have depression for life lol

i know i say that as a joke but i think it will tear brook apart more if he loses then khan,
i just think hes a bit of a fan boy of khans and always obsessed about him if we're being honest

thats one reason why i think his pride wont let him quit even if say he gets hurt

reason why im swaying towards brook slightly is after seeing the weight in, yea i think khans chest and abs look better,
but something about brook his shoudlers and back and hes naturally more heavy handed imho and also he generally looks solid

i think brooks made the weight well

saw a dom ingle interview on behind the gloves (link below)
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oX6...ehindTheGloves

he mentions the jet lag and how khan hasnt been in england a lot and been in the gym till midnight

honestly that never crossed my mind but if khan plans on running around on the back foot at this age of his career that will have a massive impact imho

you know what i have no loyalty to none of these two fighters as these wastemans have owed us the british public this fight for years lool

lets not be fooled into not thinking the payday doesnt play a part,
of course theres a lot more on the line but the pay day is a bix factor to the fight still happening even this late on

I from the very start, have picked Amir Khan to win.

But the closer the fight has got, and with the interviews I have saw from Dominic Ingle.

I have began to slightly, lean towards Brook. If Brook was the win this fight, it was all about how well he made the weight.

I am still favoring Amir Khan to win by late stoppage between rounds 9-11 or on points.

If Brook is to win this fight, it has to be in the early rounds between rounds 'First 5 rounds'. The longer the fight goes, Khan will get stronger in the fight.

Amir Khan has always been a extremely well conditioned and fit fighter, he is the only fighter to have challenge and pushed Manny Pacquiao in training 'I still think Khan's fitness is top tier' And this is most likely going to win him the fight.

Note: I do have compassion for Kell Brook, and if he is to lose this fight? It will be devastating for him. Anyone who has observed the fighters can foresee this. I have found it strange the way he has always wanted Khan's respect borderline validation 'Amir Khan has had the time of his life during this build up, and looks to have enjoyed himself'.

Kell Brook always looks aesthetically impressive at weigh in's, he looked aesthetically more impressive than most of his opponents. Even if this fight was made at 154, I may have still picked Amir Khan to win over the distance.

At their peaks, maybe Kell Brook skill for skill was the better fighter. But he does not have the wins or performances to back this up. What Amir Khan is good at, which is throwing fast combinations 'And his point scoring Olymplic styled boxing' can take rounds off fighters and cause most fighters issues. It caused Alvarez issue's, Canelo Alvarez had no answer 'His only solution was to wait and time one of Khan's mistakes'.

Maybe Kell Brook has to do something similar, because at some point those opportunities are going to appear. As the rounds go by, and the pressure and actions increases. Kell Brook may have to think ahead, and coincide rounds 'And play the long game'. Just get his punches off when he can, and go to the body violently.

I think Kell Brook should focus on ****ing Khan to the body.

Note: I know, I have just given two ways in which Kell Brook can win. Ether he gets to Amir Khan early or? He coincides rounds, and plays the long game. Attacks the body, with the plan of breaking Khan down slowly 'Even though with this type of method, he will be dropping rounds to Khan'. But as the fight progresses, Khan will maybe start making more and more mistakes 'That is where Brook, needs to land a big time'. If this fight is a high paced fight, where both fighters are going through the gears 'I think Khan will win'.

I just think Brook has to fight, a extremely calculated and smart fight 'If he is to win'.

I am still overall picking Amir Khan to win.

Yeah, I haven't got a dog in this either, just hope both have enough left to put on a good fight.

Jet lag is an interesting factor and one I haven't considered either. I wonder when Khan arrived in England for this fight?

Yeah, Kell looked better on the scales than in recent years. I agree with Macklin that he did look a bit dry but he definitely seemed more comfortable and happy with the weight. Another thing I'm not sure about with Brook is his punch resistance, he seemed done as soon as Crawford landed clean but if he's less drained it might not be as bad.

Khan's hands and feet seemed a little slower against Crawford, still fast but not what he used to be.

The "shot-fighter" element is making this fight intriguing for me, it could easily make for a ****ty fight between two has-beens but I'm hoping for one final big performance from both guys, leave it all in the ring tonight and call it a career.

yea youre right and i do agree that khan is already rent free in brooks head for many years, like you say it would devastating for brook to lose and can only get worse mentally for brook

im thinking the opposite, as khans best chance to get brook out of there is early, longer it goes the more openings khan will give brook and whether you like brook as a fighter or not you have to admit his timing is very good

khan knew is brook fight was at a heavier weight it suits brook, hence why he got it down as low as possible as he doesnt struggle as much as brook to make weight

i can see brook going to the body early to tire khan out but he will also leave himself open

this has to be one of the most fascinating 50/50s in recent time in boxing imho

I got no horse in this race im happy for either to win or a draw. But Khan in his prime was losing to Prescott of this world. So smart money says brook. But I don't go with crowd so I pick khan

I disagree. Khan seems to start strong with his blazing hand speed that bamboozles his opponents.

Once they get used to it they can start timing him and walking him back. He can’t fight inside.

I see a Khan stoppage early or a Brook stoppage late.
