  • If Canelo keeps winning, will "Floyds the goat"fans ever proclaim him greater(or Pacs goat fans)?

Just wondering if Canelo keeps beating Champs will there come a point that Floyds biggest fans proclaim Canelo greater all time than Floyd(& Pac fans I'm asking too)?(I won't argue either way atm,as everyone's entitled to their opinion & currently they are neck & neck in many stats)

All I ask is don't turn this into a "clen doe" thread, just don't as I consider that irrelevant to this discussion

I highly doubt Canelo would ever be considered greater than Mayweather (at least outside of Canelo's core Mexican fanbase). And I'm not even a Mayweather fan.

And it's not entirely certain if Canelo is the greatest of this current generation either. There's still a debate over whether Canelo or Terence Crawford is the better fighter.

Resume wise, I'm pretty sure 99.9% of fans believe theres no comparison between Canelo & his current peers including Crawford who hasn't fought a single generational talent, nowhere near as many champs & nowhere near as many p4p,lineals,etc.

Canelo will never be rated skill wise above Floyd, imo.

But if we are talking accomplishments, accolades he is right there and still only 31. Its interesting to see which direction he goes bc im sure its about legacy for him.

I'm not doubting that Canelo has fought the better competition. But there are many who would argue that Crawford is the more skillful boxer.

If he becomes undisputed at 175, he will surpass both by a good margin. Possibly all time top 10 boxers ever. GOAT debates also would be acceptable. He is just ****in 31 and has at least 4-5 more years. Where was Mayweather at his 31? He was retired lol.

Don't get me wrong. Mayweather is better and more flawless fighter than Canelo. And, Canelo is better and more complete fighter than Pac.

Better fighter: May > Canelo >> Pac
Greater fighter: Canelo > May = Pac (End of career)

Umm he has a very long way to catch those two but I will admit if he beats Bivol and Beterbeiv he will come much much closer.

Are you really calling GGG a generational talent?

Idk that's tough actually. Floyd went up to 154 and beat very solid versions of DLH, Cotto, and 152 Nelo.... Manny just fought Margarito but at a catchweight.

Pound 4 Pound wise...I don't think I ever saw Floyd or Manny give up so much weight to a much bigger AND as talented as Beterbiev/Bivol.

                    Like Manny fought Margarito...but

                    1. That was at a catchweight
                    2. Margarito was shot
                    3. Margarito was never Bivol/Beterbiev level

I would have to put Canelo above Manny at least if he beat them and became undisputed at 175.
