Canelo did some none the others did clear out all the other champs aint see none the other champs facing eachother benavidez included when had a belt twice. Canelo went in fought every belt holder now doesnt know to fight 160-174 the choice are major. The largest fight if made this year is canelo vs beterbiev most ppl view canelo as losing to ggg atleast once could he beterbiev who bigger and stronger

Because most people who know boxing feel Benavidez is a tougher challenge than anyone canelo faced at 168 so far. Unlike bivol or these other guys Canelo fought recently, he’d actually try to hurt canelo. He won’t be a sitting duck like smith, a quitter like Saunders/Yidilgrim or try to chat it up and make friends with him mid fight like plant.
He should fight Benavidez, but there are 25 dudes he should fight. He can only go one at a time. I think it eventually happens, but I’m not tripping if it doesn’t happen next. Not like Benavidez has earned it.

Bivol would be his toughest fight EVER. So if he takes that fight everyone needs to stfu about the rest of them, and respect this opponent.

So what that Benavidez is in there to kill him, that doesn’t work against Canelo. The biggest threat to Canelo is a pure boxer that can move and has high ring IQ. That’s Bivol.

Soooooo you believe Canelo vs Benavidez would result in his largest number of PPV buys for his career..

Yet you’re advocating for David to take significantly less then various fighters before him took from Canelo LOL

This guy is a shyt promoter, David doesn’t need to take a penny less then Plant, Kovalev, nor Jacobs took.

Interesting take, ggg isn’t a pure boxer yet most believe he beat canelo, definitely in the first fight and possibly in the 2nd fight also. Saunders and plant are considered boxers but didn’t cause much of an issue. Canelo has never faced anyone like Benavidez. He’s big, strong, young, good stamina, aggressive, throws combinations and is durable. His style will give canelo hell considering that canelo likes to fight at a measured pace. Benavidez won’t let him do that. So minimize him all you want but Benavidez isn’t an angulo 2.0. He will give canelo a tougher fight than anyone he’s faced and will be tougher than bivol who will likely make for a boring style match up.

We can touch on this fight when it happens. It eventually will and I guarantee Vegas betting lines will have Canelo as the favorite. I predict Canelo wins a hard UD/SD. I’m confident he wins.

Im not as confident he beats Bivol.

                Just my honest opinion.

Also, agree with GGG, although I think it was a game plan problem with GGG. Once Canelo adjusted and dumped the counter punch strategy, I felt he handled GGG well enough to win in the 2nd fight.

Canelo didn’t make his unification plans known until after Benavidez got stripped. That’s when he decided to petition for the vacant title. You may see that as a coincidence, but many don’t. Yeah Benavidez messed up but hasn’t canelo failed a vada test before? Hasn’t canelo struggled with weight and had a contracted weight changed right before the fight to accommodate his weight struggles. Let’s not be hypocritical here and only see it as an issue for Benavidez but not acknowledge canelo has made very similar mistakes.
Remember when everyone said he wouldn’t face GGG because he was too dangerous? Well, he didn’t just fight him, he fought him twice.

Remember when he moved up for the one-off fight at 168 against fielding when he was still competing at 160 and everyone said he handed picked fielding and will never fight the real Champ C. Smith? Well, not only did he fight him, he absolutely schooled him.

Point is, haters will always hate. No matter how many haters he proves wrong, the hate will never stop.

I mean, are we going to ignore that he waited 2 yrs for ggg after ggg turned 35 and started to show some vulnerability and also fought smith 2 yrs later as well after smith got beat up by Ryder? If we’re being honest, Canelo tends to pick guys after they look vulnerable and rarely if ever picks someone coming off an impressive performance. Anyway, back to the original point, there are way more reasons to fight Benavidez than to not and while you feel haters will always hate, his fans always like to defend anything he does and refuse to acknowledge and valid criticism of him and his opponent selection process.

It could be a fight that would possible get bigger pay-per-view numbers than either of the two Canelo-Golovkin fights.

Would it beat the numbers for Mayweather-Canelo, probably not, especially today with options for live streaming and I don't mean a legal PPV.

Plant, Saunders and Smith were challenging on paper, but not that gruelling and physical like the GGG fights, and like a Benavidez fight would be.
