Comments Thread For: Domestic Violence Charges Against Juan Manuel Lopez Dismissed Without Prejudice

Juan Manuel Lopez is a free man. The former two-division titlist saw a seven-count assault and abuse case dismissed without prejudice Wednesday morning in the Court of First Instance in Caguas, Puerto Rico. The locally-based Lopez was accused of aggravated assault plus physical and psychological abuse, stemming from four alleged incidents of gender violence against ex-girlfriend Andrea Ojeda Cruz who failed to report to court on consecutive days in ultimately leading to the dismissal.

Hhhmmmmm… 2 separate women pressed charges & accused him of abuse. In both cases the witnesses & accusers never show up for court or wouldn’t cooperate after the fact. It’s either the witnesses & accusers were either threatened or they decided not to follow thru. Juanma even pleaded with the public to leave her alone because she is a good person. Maybe the accusers think Juanma is a good man sober but a complete animal when he drinks. These were serious allegations against him & he still refused to bash his ex after charges dropped… a weird situation all around…

Call a woman "fat" and you get some jail time. I bet all women in the West want this law in their states.

No point. Just find the situation pretty strange. Curious to know why she didn’t show up for court after making such serious allegations then Juanma is speaking highly of her after charges dismissed. Was she threatened along with witnesses or does she just not want to press charges anymore? Is Juanma just talking nice to her & her family so he can stay out of prison & hopefully keep the peace? This is very bizarre…

Emotional abuse could lead to suicide… It seems bullying & emotional abuse is a major crime these days not just in PR but everywhere…

Juanma has no money (or very little) left from his fighting days. I wonder, since he is a WBO "ambassador", how much Paco [Varcarcel] had to do with this issue.
