I can understand him believing this in the immediate aftermath of the fight--he may have lacked perspective on exactly what was happening--but if he has watched the fight since then, and still believes this to be the case...yikes.
Tbh, when I initially watched it, I thought Danny won, I think that’s because I really wanted him to beat Golovkin, a few weeks later I rewatched it and I started to doubt my initial decision.

I haven’t watched it for Atleast 2 years. He deffo gave more than a good account of himself though. They did fight at the height of GGG Fame and stuff aswell, that’s why I praise Danny’s performance even more.

You are 100% on the money about Jacobs mentality in recent years, it’s something I’ve picked up on, I also feel like he could of given a lot more, maybe it’s me overrating his ability.

Overrall he’s very likeable for obvious reasons, I think his son is brilliant little lad aswell. He should go enjoy fruits of his labour if his hunger isn’t the same anymore. He’s got nothing to prove, he’s overcome more than lots of us just beating cancer before his sporting accolades. He can say he’s honestly fought two best fighters of his generation around his weight. Not many Fighters get that privilege.

It seems to me Danny got that canelo payday and put in one more decent shift even tho he lost to canelo and since then he's just been in a division he shouldn't be in but he can't make 160 anymore apparently but 168 he just don't have the legs and Danny was always known for being pretty cute and having fast feet and for 5/6 rounds against Ryder he showed that but then he just faded like older fighters who have long careers do and it cost him because the fight became closer and even tho I had him winning it was still close where they could give it to the home town guy.

I thought that Jacobs won all the early rounds with 4 and 6 being very close. when he got hit in the 7th he started all that switching back in forth southpaw stance sht and that opened up for him to be getting hit clean throughout. Remember across the pond the fans yell at anything and that can sway judging. It clearly could've been a draw or gone either way. Jacobs blew it

The best option is a rematch with Ryder, it would be a good payday for Jacobs and should set him up for at least one more big fight (assuming he wins).
