Sounds like he wants to be a movie star, not a fighter.

Mike Tyson said it. Everybody has a plan until they get hit in the mouth. One shot, and the guy wants a new gym.

I can imagine Goossen texting Ryan asking what time he wants to train that day. Ryan texting 11ish and then saying he just wants to work the speed bag for a little bit while someone records it for his feed.

There just doesn't seem to be substance there. He seems to want to play the part of a fighter but not actually be a fighter and make the sacrifices necessary. Whatever.
As a believer in the kids skill and talent,I do find the comment about having to abide by a certain "schedule" concerning as well. It gives off a little Chavez Jr vibes.

Canelo takes precedent in that gym obviously so everyone else there, like Ryan is playing second fiddle and will have to work around that schedule. Now it could be that's what his dad is referring to and it's possible they no longer want to be sloppy seconds and have decided to built thier own gym or "brand". Everyone at some point, especially athletes, want to step out of anyone's shadow and become thier own star. He has the following and in my belief the talent to do so i wish him well but will tell if it was the right move or not.

Ryan is cool but he lacks footwork and he has some mental issues so early in his career. It wont be long when someone is going to KO him cold.

So he wants to set his own training schedule. Chavez Jr tried that.
